Capped!

I am absolutely smitten with the metallic trend, and even more so with the metal cap shoes that seem to be popping up every where recently!
I'm especially loving the merge of the metal cap with the pointed pump trend! Now I know you might be cringing at the thought that pointed shoes are back in...let's be real, it feels like there's a toe orgy going on down there the way they're all squeezed in and awkwardly rubbing on each other, but alas, yes, they are back.
If you are still not convinced, it's ok, there is a good variety of shoes to choose from that are sporting the metal capped trend.
If you think the metal cap is too reminiscent of a dominatrix, then there are other options too. Some designers are combining the color blocking trend with the caps to create a fun and bright shoe.
What to rock them with? Just about anything.
Jeans: skinny, colored, cuffed, or cut-off, I think the metal tips add a rock-star edge to any pair of jeans.
Skirts: I love the pointed metal caps with pencil skirts, as well as ruffled or peplum skirts.

I have already received some of my assignments and will be busy working on those, but will keep you all posted on where to see the features, and will of course, be posting as usual on my blog. Stay tuned!

If you haven't seen or heard about Emma Stone's UH-MAZE-ING Gucci gown that she wore at "The Amazing Spider-Man" premier in Paris, then you've been missing out, but now you know!

The first time I really took note of the sheer trend, was when Fergie rocked this number at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards back in February. Remember this?

Here are some other favorites that the stars have been sporting lately:
Gwen Stefani, Anna Dello Russo & Kim Kardashian all in Stella McCartney
But my favorite to date, is this sheer number that Halle Berry wore back in 2002 to the oscars. A classic for sure!

OOTD: Job Interview

Last week I went to a job interview with Carolina Style Magazine, read about them more here and here. While they have been in circulation since 2008, they are growing at an impressive rate and it would be an honor, pleasure, and dream to be a part of the first major style magazine to come out of the Carolinas.
I wanted my outfit to look smart, stylish, and unique. The thing about going to a job interview for a position in the fashion industry is that your outfit matters perhaps more than with any other type of job interview.
I'm happy with what I came up with, and am hoping to hear some good news soon! Please keep your fingers crossed for me! x x

Resort Trending 2013: Tribal Princess

Among the array of patterns that made an appearance on the runways of Resort 2013, the tribal patterns are one of my favorites. Whether it be animal prints or more native looking motives, the tribal trend brings color, life, and, a wild edge that no other trend can bring.

Here are some of my favorites from the runway:

Tangy Tangerine

"Tangerine Tango" has been voted the hottest color for Spring, Summer, and even Fall 2012.

How best to rock this juicy color? I love it with black and white, but if you are feeling bold, bright pink (think a pink flambé) or even green (think pistachio or aquamarine) pair wonderfully with this delicious color.

My advice? If you're going to buy into any trend this year, make sure it's this one. It's color that you will be able to wear from now through the fall.

I leave you with some of my favorites, and a line from Led Zeppelin...
"Tangerine, Tangerine, Living a reflection from a dream."
